Black Stars team B Coach Maxwell Konadu says he is pleased with the outcome of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier first leg against the Stallions of Burkina Faso.

Ghana held Burkina Faso to a 2-2 draw at their own backyard to gain an advantage ahead of the second leg which will be played in Kumasi.

Saddick Adams opened the scoring from the spot before Sylla Mohammed pulled parity for the Stallions. Gideon Waja then made it 2-1 for Ghana, only for Illiase Sawadogo to grab the equalizer.

Coach Maxwell Konadu who side was depleted ahead of the first leg because of player exodus, indicated he was satisfied with the result.

“I am not disappointed about the scoreline but am a bit worried about how we conceded the two goals because I felt we could have done better than that,” Kodanu said after the game.

“We are playing far away from home and I think a 2-2 scoreline is not bad as we all know but we could have done better,” he added.

Ghana will host Burkina Faso in the second leg next week, and the winner on an aggregate scoreline will qualify for Kenya 2018.

The Black Stars team B will be looking forward to picking the ticket for Kenya following the disappointment of missing out in the last edition.

The team has twice been in the finals of the competition made solely for players on the continent, they lost in the maiden edition to DR Congo and in 2014 to Libya.
