Ghana defender Daniel Opare happy with form at Augsburg

Ghanaian right back Daniel Opare is happy with his form at club side Augsburg after impressing in the club’s 1-0 win over R.B Liepzig.

The former under-20 world cup winner has been in obscurity since he blossomed onto the International stage, despite his amazing quality.

The 26 year old had to be farmed out by the club last season because of poor form to French side R.C Lens but returned stronger and has been the main man at the right back position for Augsburg.

Following the victory over Liepzig, a club that surprised many by qualifying to the champions League in their maiden season in the Bundesliga, Opare says he is happy with his form but credited his team mates for the win.

"I am a team player and I'm not the only player on the pitch. You can see everybody worked hard and it's a victory for the team. I will not take the praise alone," he told Bundesliga Vibes

"I will say we did a good job. For me I will say, I am an Augsburg player and what I want to do is to help the team as much as possible. To play my heart out and do my best."

The Ghanaian was named in the Bundesliga team of the week over the weekend after another outstanding performance.

The right back is also yearning for a call up into the national team and looks likely to have a claim if he continues in his rich vein of form.
