Ghana Football Association communications director Ibrahim Saani Daara claims delayed payment of Black Stars’AFCON 2017 bonus is the reason why Razak Brimah has not paid fine.
Brimah was handed a $2,500 fine by the GFA for launching a scathing social media attack on Ghanaians who criticized his substandard performance at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
But the GFA resisted all these pressures – claiming they relied on their code of conduct to arrive at the $2,500 fine which many up to now feel was a major let off.
Yet still, the Ghana FA has been unable to collect the fine they imposed on the player who has pocketed far in excess of the fine during his time entire time with the Black Stars.
“We had wanted to administer the fine in the immediate assignment after the Nations Cup which is the current qualifier [against Ethiopia] but we all know Razak was not invited for this game,” Saani told Kessben FM.
“The thing also is that the team is owed some monies from the African Cup so we have been unable to implement the sanction.”
Razak Brimah for the first time in three years has been left out of the Black Stars team for a competitive game. He is not in Kwasi Appiah's squad for Ghana's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
