Ghanaian attacker Nasiru Mohammed has tipped Nigeria and Egypt to lift Africa’s flag high at the FIFA World Cup in Russia next year.
Nigeria qualified unbeaten in Group B of the African qualifiers brushing aside African Champions Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia.
Meanwhile, Egypt lost only a game against Uganda in the qualifiers to make a return to the mundial for the first time in 27 years.
However BK Hacken attacker Nasiru Mohammed believes the two nations will be Africa’s worthy ambassadors in Russia.
“I tip Nigeria and Egypt to lift the flag of Africa at the World Cup. I have watched the Nigeria side and I think they have a very great team to make Africa proud,” he told Ghanasoccernet.com in an interview.
”The Super Eagles have a young and promising team that is hunger to prove a point to the entire world and I believe that will make us proud.”
Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco will represent Africa in Russia next year.
The farthest Africa has gone at the World Cup has been to the quarter finals after Ghana, Cameroon and Senegal achieved that feat in 2010, 1990 and 2002 respectively.
