Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban has praised fans of English Championship side Leeds United for their tremendous support in the club’s 2-1 win over Middleborough in the Championship.

The forward who was returning from a long injury lay off played the final ten minutes of the game, helping Leeds pull off a remarkable win against their former manager Gray Monk.

Former Valencia Midfielder Pablo Hernandez turned in Leeds' opener from Kalvin Phillips' flick-on before he crossed for Ezgjan Alioski's second.

However, Luke Ayling's clash with Daniel Ayala gave Britt Assombalonga the chance to reply from the spot, but Leeds held on.

Meanwhile, the returning Ekuban was excited with game time and hailed Leeds fans for the win over Middlesborough.

"It's really brilliant because every team that comes here knows that they are playing at Elland Road, they know that there is a crowd that will go against them, that will try to help their team," he told Radio Yorkshire's official YouTube channel.

"When we play well, you can even see that the fans are backing us even more, and that's nice because sometimes we just have that type of difficult moment in the game and when you hear the crowd trying to help you to push out, to keep them away from the goal, it's very nice.

Leeds will be away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night with Caleb Ekuban looking forward to making the starting line up in his first game since his return from injury.
