Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghana Black Stars striker, Rev. Osei Kofi has caved in heavily on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the lost footballing sameness and philosophy.
Football enthusiasts know all about the qualities of the Black Stars, who have been entertaining fans in all four corners of Africa and the world with their easy-on-the-eye style of play since the 1960s.
The calm soft-spoken respected footballer believes that the lost brand of football ruining through the system in our national teams and the local league is the cause of our failure in African and world national team competitions.
Speaking to Takoradi based Spice FM, Osei Kofi said, “Our brand of football won as trophies in 1963 and 1965 and also been runner-ups in 1968 and 1970.”
“We (Ghana) dominated African football and qualified for Olympic Games in the 60s, 70s and 80s.”
“Countries like Kenya copied and adopted our brand of football but now we have lost our identity.”
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper also revealed that the reason why the Black Stars coach Avram Grant refused to call up any of our local players was due to the fact that our local league low.
