Ghana midfielder Ebenezer Ofori says he is happy to be "opening a new chapter' in his career as he joined New York City FC in the United States of America.

The Ghanaian joins the MLS side from Bundesliga club, Stuttgart on a year long loan.

Ofori joined Stuttgart last season but struggled for game time this season, hence the decision to join New York City FC for game time.

Following his arrival in New York, the Ghanaian told his new club's website he is eager tohit the ground running and very happy to join the sea blues.

“I’m feeling good and happy because I’ve been looking forward to starting this new chapter with a big club like NYCFC,” he told NYCFC.com.

“For me, I just want to be part of a successful team this year, to be happy and to play in and win many games as I can with my new team.

“I can’t wait to step out in the Bronx on a gameday and to meet the fans for the first time.”

The 23 year old will join the likes of former Barcelona striker Davod Villa at his new club.

His presence in the MLS has increased the number of Ghanaians in plying their trade in the MLS, with the likes of Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful and David Accam already household names in the US.
