New Edubiase United defeated Techiman City 2-1 at the Nana Ameyaw Park in the Ghana Premier League game on Wednesday. The win hands the Bekwai-based side a major advantage in their quest to escape relegation.

Striker Toufiq Mohammed scored what was described as an acrobatic kick to hand the home side all three points after Isaac Baah had pulled level for the away team in the second half.

Edubiase, battling relegation from the top-flight, matched the home side boot-for-boot in midfield and came close twice to opening the scoring in the 12th and 21st minutes.
