Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah to play for Crystal Palace U21 to regain fitness

Ghana international Kwesi Appiah is set to train with the Under 21 side of Crystal Palace as part of pre-season preparations. Appiah suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury while on international duty with Ghana in June last year and has been in the treatment room since the unfortunate happening. But he finally returned to pre-season with Crystal Palace two week ago as he was named in Pardew's men who traveled to North America for the side's pre-season training. However, his progress has not been up to the expectations hence his attachment with the U21’s. Academy director Gary Issott has confirmed that the Ghanaian and two other’s recuperating from injury are expected to join the U21’s to regain full fitness. “Where Anderson, Kwesi Appiah and Inniss are concerned, the trio are on the verge of full training and will feature in the U21s' pre-season fixtures.” "Kwesi had a really bad injury and it has been sad really that he's missed the first part of pre-season where he can join in with us, so he's just going to play catch-up now. "There's only two weeks or so to go now until the Football League starts as well."
