Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris could not do enough to help his French side Lorient avoid relegation.
Lorient were held at home to a goalles draw by Troyes which was not enough to see them stay in the French Ligue 1 after losing 2-1 three days earlier to the same opponents.
Waris scored in their 2-1 defeat toincrease his tally for the season to 11 goals.
The forward is being linked with a moveto Bordeaux having excelled despite his club’s relegation.
However, reports in France indicates Lorient will want to hold on to the striker.
