Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris has vowed to score more goals for new club FC Porto after making a move from France to Portugal.

The 26 year old joined FC Porto from Lorient on a short term loan, which will see him stay at the club till the end of the season.

The Portuguese giants have an option to sign the pacy forward on a permanent deal if he impresses at the end of his loan deal.

Waris, who will be wearing his favourite number 18 jersey said after his signing that his main objective is to score more goals for the club.

“I’m here to fight for Porto, not for the name on my jersey. I feel I can help add goals,” he said during his unveiling.

“Brahimi, Aboubakar and Marega always seem to be scoring, so hopefully I’ll help us score more. What’s important is goals, not who scores them.”

The former BK Hacken striker scored nine goals for FC Lorient last season but could not help them avoid the drop.

The prolific Ghanaian striker has struggled with injuries before the start of the current campaign but has shrug it off and looks poised to excel in Portugal.
