Ghana U-17 Captain Eric Ayian insists Mali defeat in friendly will help correct their mistakes

Captain of the Black Starlets Ayiah believes the friendly defeat to Mali will help the team correct some of their mistakes ahead of the FIFA under-17 World Cup in India next month.

Ghana lost to Mali 2-1 in Abu Dhabi in an international friendly, the same side they lost to at the Africa Junior Championship in May.

Eric Ayiah scored Ghana’s goal in the 13th minute but succumb to defeat in the second half. He echoed the importance of the friendly and how the will correct their mistakes ahead of the Mundial.

“It was good for us to play a friendly with Mali. I think it was a good game, me and my teammates did very well,” he said.

“We are still preparing, correcting all our mistakes, and making sure we will be good for the World Cup,

“We played all the good football but we made a little mistake and it cost us, but these are some of the things we are here to correct.”

The Black Starlets have been drawn in Group A of the FIFA under-17 world cup with host India, Colombia and the United States.
