‘Go smash it’, ‘Come back stronger’ – Fans react as Rangers confirm agreement for striker

Rangers striker Joe Dodoo has agreed to a season-long loan deal with Blackpool – and Gers fans hope the striker can return to Ibrox a better player for the spell away.

The 22-year-old striker joined the Gers from Leicester in 2016 but failed to make an impact at Ibrox, with the Light Blues confirming his departure on Twitter on Wednesday.

Dodoo has made 27 appearances for the Gers, scoring five times, and spent the first half of last season on loan at Charlton.

Gers fans hope to see the former Leicester striker improve at Blackpool and come back to Ibrox and fight for a place – with one fan saying “come back stronger.”

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

During Dodoo’s loan spell with Charlton, he hit the net twice in eight appearances before returning to Ibrox in January.

Following his return to Scotland, Dodoo made two appearances for the Gers – both in the Scottish Cup – as he struggled to force his way into Graeme Murty’s first-team plans.

League One side Blackpool will be hoping Dodoo can perform regularly during his spell with the Seasiders and show exactly why the striker was signed by the Gers in 2016.

The striker still has two years remaining on his Ibrox contract.
