Agile goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko, Eric Ofori Antwi is dismayed at the treatment the club has shown him after he was named among the players transfer-listed ahead of the upcoming season.

The Porcupine warriors put the former Amidaus Professionals goalkeeper who had a torrid season in the league for the club, with unremitting injuries and below par performances which constituted in him being deemed third choice.

However, Ofori Antwi says he finds it difficult that with all the meetings he held with the club over his swift departure, they’ve labeled him as a surplus to requirement.

Speaking on Happy FM, the maligned goalkeeper fumed at the treatment the club has meted out towards him.

“I don’t know why they put me among the transfer-listed players because I’ve I had dialogue with the club about letting me leave without any fuss. I’ve made my intentions known to them that I don’t want to be part of the club again and they agreed.”

“I don’t hold any grudge with any of the management members, but my wish now is to seek a new challenge elsewhere.”

Antwi further stated that though many clubs have shown interest in signing him, he’s not agreed any deal yet.

“Teams have approached me, but nothing concrete has come out. My options are still open and I’ll surely sign for a club before the start of next season.” Ofori Antwi featured only in five matches for the club as they finished on fifth position last season in the Ghana Premier League.
