GPL Preview: Bolga All Stars to hurt WAFA on Sunday

Bolga All Stars will come face-to-face with league leaders, WAFA in the week 19 of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League tie at the Tamale Utretch Park on Sunday afternoon.

Peter Akologo's men will looking to bounce from their 4-0 heavy defeat against Hearts of Oak a forthnight ago as they take on the Academy Boys in Tamale.

Bolga All Stars have not fared too bad at Home in their debut season. Out of eight games, the Tamale-based outfit have managed two win, three wins and three defeats. ( P8, W2, D3, L3).They have scored ten goals and have conceded fourteen in the process.

West African Football Academy (WAFA), meanwhile, have been outstanding away from Home this term, Off nine matches, the Academy Boys have won three, drawn three and lost three. (P9, W3, D3, L3). The Sogakope-based club have scored eight goals and let in just five.

This is the second time the two are meeting in the premier league. Both met in the first round in Sogakope where it finished 2-0 in favour of WAFA.

Bolga All Stars have won just one of their last five matches whilst WAFA have won two of their last five fixtures.

The Homesters lost their last PL game by 4-0 to Hearts of Oak while the Visitors drew 0-0 to Liberty Professionals in their last PL game.

Bolga All Stars languish at the bottom of the Table with 11 points while WAFA top the GPL Table with 36 points after 18 games.

Daniel Lomotey is WAFA's topscorer this season with 7 goals whereas Noah Neequaye tops the scoring chart at Bolga All Stars with 3 goals.

A win or draw will see Bolga All Stars stay at the Bottom of the Table.

Asante Kotoko will be at Home to Wa All Stars on Saturday. Revenge will be on the minds of the Porcupine Warriors as they host the Pride of the North with Steve Pollack's men looking to respond to a 1-0 first round defeat when both met in Wa.

In other PL games, Great Olympics will be seeking to bounce from their 4-0 loss to Tema Youth two weeks ago as they welcome crosstown rivals, Liberty Professionals to the Accra Sports Stadium with Ashanti Gold entertaining Inter Allies at the Lenclay Stadium in Obuasi.

Elsewhere, Elmina Sharks will be looking to spit vernom on Hearts of Oak when both clash at the Nduom Sports Complex in Elmina as Berekum Chelsea shrug it out with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Golden City Park.

Furthermore, Tema Youth will engage an Aduana Stars side who are yearning to dislodge WAFA from the summit of the Table in Tema with Bechem United locking horns with Medeama SC at the Nana Gyeabour Park in Bechem.
