Accra Great Olympics have suffered another blow after their petition against Bechem United was dismissed by the Ghana Football Association's disciplinary committee.
Olympics prayed to the Committee to impose sanctions on Bechem United for an infraction of the Statutes of and Regulations of the Ghana FA for fielding an unqualified player (Joseph Amoah) in the match day 8 encounter against Bolga All Stars in March.
The Accra-based side, who were relegated after last season's campaign, wanted the Hunters to pay for forfeiture under Article 34 (1) (e) of the General Rules and Regulations, which reads: '' A team commits an offence punishable by forfeiture of a match where it fields an unqualified player (s).
But the Committee after the findings and grounds of the decision said: ''A club which opts to be a gracious informant by notifying the GFA of such infractions ought to do so within three days after the match concerned in order for a claim for forfeiture to hold under Article 37 (7) of the General Regulations.
''It is therefore, the position of this Committee that the process labeled 'Petition' as filed by Accra Great Olympics FC is alien to the rules and regulations for the Disciplinary Committee in the manner of the Ghana FA and cannot thus, be used to invoke the jurisdistion of the Discplinary Committee in the manner sought by Accra Great Olympics FC.''
