Head Coach of the Walias of Ethiopia Ashenafi Bekele says Black stars Captain Asamoah Gyan is an African great after the Ghanaian talisman scored his 50th international goal.
Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring in Ghana’s 5-0 thrashing of Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier to set the milestone.
The 31year old is Africa’s leading goal scorer at the World Cup putting him in the class the Roger Milla’s.
Ashenafi Bekele was wowed by the performance of the legendary Ghana skipper and said after the game, Gyan needs to be celebrated not only in Ghana but across the continent.
“Gyan is a good player and wonderful player, he was good today and helped Ghana ,” Bekele told the Press.
“I think he is a great footballer not only in Ghana but in Africa.
Ghana leads group F of the qualifiers ahead of Sierra Leone who beat Kenya 2-1.
