Ghana and Al Ahli striker Asamoah Gyan insists he will not jubilate when he scores against Al Ain even after death threats from fans.

Gyan was a subject of a loan deal from Shanghai SIPG to Reading in the English Championship, but the move fell through at the last embers of the European transfer window due to a reported medical failure and had to be snapped up by Al Ahli to the UAE Pro League.

However, the transfer to Al Ahli has caused a big uproar in the UAE due to his previous stint with Al Ain, who are a direct rival to Al Ahli and this has triggered their supporters to send him hostile messages.

In spite of the happening trend, the 30-year-old revealed on Hot FM sports that he tried everything possible to rejoin Al Ain prior to his signing to their bitterest rivals.

"Few weeks ago, after I learnt of my situation at Shanghai, I spoke to the President of Al Ain about my interest in returning, but they told me point blank that they're done with recruitment and that they wish me good luck.

But after they got information that I was on the verge of signing for Al Ain, they called and expressed their disappointment with the move," the Black Stars captain disclosed.

"I understand their fans frustrations, but they should also understand it's part of our job to play at a place we feel wanted and conducive even though I cannot deny that I hold them in high esteem and because I don't think I can jubilate anytime I score against them."

Asamoah Gyan won the Golden Boot award for three consecutive.seasons in the UAE Pro League during his time with Al Ain before joining Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG in the 2015 league season.
