Hearts calls for competent referee for MTN FA Cup final

Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have asked the MTN FA Cup Committee to appoint a competent referee for their final against bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday, 29 October.

Most of the local referee has been criticized in this fixture recently, with names like referee Samuel Suka and Dally Gaba, controversially involved in the last two games.

There have been calls for the committee to bring in a foreign referee but that has been rejected by the organizers.

However, it looks like Hearts would not mind who will be appointed centre referee provided he can do the job.

‘’Once again it is the same thing that we are also calling for, fairness. There should not be any reason why anybody refereeing should not be fair, once there is fairness Hearts of Oak would return with the cup this year, we do not have fear for any opponent,'' the club's spokesperson Kwame Opare Addo said.

'If the committee brings any referee who is competent enough we are ready for the match.''
