The Communications Director Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo have denied the club stripping off Winful Cobbinah's number 10 jersey.
Most supporters of the club were left in fears when Patrick Razak was spotted with the iconic jersey in their last two friendly matches played.
Speaking to Kumasi based FOX FM, Opare Addo stated that Razak’s usage of the number 10 jersey is just for the interim, and will maintain his usual squad number (17) when the official league season commences.
“The jerseys we are using for the friendly matches are jerseys we already have in stock, and in friendly matches, there are no names on the jerseys so anybody can use any Jersey number.
In his response to whether the situation will be overturned when the season starts, he confirmed that in official matches such as the league matches or the FA Cup competition, no player will use a number usually worn by another player.
"In the premier league or the FA cup competition, all players will use their respective squad numbers, by virtue of our registered jerseys, Patrick Razak is still wearing his usual number 17," Opare confirmed.
Winful Cobbinah who has been out of action for the club for weeks due to illness, returned to training on Tuesday and is ready to play for Hearts of Oak as a registered and contracted player in the coming season, using his usual iconic number 10 jersey.
“Winful is back to training and he will wear his usual squad number 10 jersey when the season starts”, Opare Addo assured.
