Hearts set for court, former protocol officer takes legal action against the club

Accra Hearts of Oak in the coming days will face off with their former employee Joshua Acquah over a defamation suit.

Mr. Acquah a former protocol officer of the team has taken legal action against the Club for his alleged match fixing claims.

He recently resigned from his duties after allegedly involving himself in the scandal which was revealed by former management member of the Club Aziz Haruna Futah.

A portion of the letter reads:

“After a sober reflection on recent events leading my resignation as protocol officer of Hearts of Oak sporting Club and subsequent defamatory accusations that I have ben fixing the Club’s matches and betting on its results for personal gain, I have decided to clear my name and secure my peace of mind.

“I therefore filed a writ today, 10th October 2017, at the High Court in Accra against Accra Hearts of Oak and former management member Aziz Haruna Futah who are the source and originators of defamatory information about me.

Meanwhile the Ghana Football Association is yet to take action on the alleged scandal which came up a month ago.
