Players and technical team members of Accra Hearts of Oak will be smiling to the bank after the settlement of heir unpaid wages and bonuses on Tuesday.

The amount totaling GHC 230,000 was released on Tuesday, following the reluctance of some senior players to return to preseason training.

According a source close to footballgahana.com, the Premier League giants who began preseason on Monday, had several key players absent because of the non payments of their outstanding wages.

On Tuesday, only three first team players reported to training.

And in a swift response, Board Chairman Togbe Afede issued the release of GHC 230,000 to settle the outstanding debts.

The entire team are expected to return to training on Wednesday, with the club waiting on the return of Scottish trainer Frank Nuttal.

However, Coach Henry Wellington has been leading the team through several drills.

Accra Hearts of Oak will face Kumasi Asante Kotoko, a team they lost to in the MTN FA Cup in October, in the return leg of the Ghana @60 Cup match on December 24th at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
