Accra Hearts of Oak's Scottish trainer has been given a week break by the club despite their big game with Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday.
The game will be used to commemorate Ghana's 60th anniversary.
Assistant manager Henry Wellington will be in charge as the phobians seek to make it a double over their arch rivals.
However, Asante Kotoko are seeking redemption with the big game by having one at the phobians after they controversially beat them in the Ghana Premier League.
