I am sad Hearts has not won the league for the past nine years- Former midfielder Adjah Tetteh

Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Adjah Tetteh has expressed disappointment at the state of the club and insists he is sad the club has not won any major silverware in almost a decade.

Accra Hearts of Oak last won the Ghana Premier League in 2009, but the Rainbow club has struggled to make an impact on the domestic scene and even at the continental stage.

The club that has been very successful in the past winning the Champions League in 2000 and the CAF Confederations Cup in 2004.

Adjah Tetteh, who was part of the successful Hearts team in the 2000’s stated his disappointment at the turn of events but was hopeful of a better future for the club.

“I am very sad that the team has not won the league in almost a decade,” he told Xylofon FM.

“But the performances has been improving in the last few years,” he added.

“To me there has been some difficulties, there has been problems for the club but I believe the team will be successful this year.”

The Ghana Premier League is yet to start following a court injunction, but the team that finished runner up last season in the FA Cup look poised for a better season.

Hearts finished third in the League last season but have been preparing feverishly for the upcoming season.
