Aduana Stars attacker Nathaniel Asamoah has expressed joy in winning the Ghana Premier League for the first time in his career, despite enduring a difficult season.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward has been troubled by injuries this season but helped his side to Premier League success.

Having joined the Dormaa-based club from Medeama this season, the high profile forward was expected to seize the striker’s role but he had to battle with teammates Bright Agyei and Dennis Sasraku for a starting place.

However, the 27 year old is happy to have won the league as supposed to personal ambitions.

"The season has been a tough one but personally it has been good and successful for me," he said in an interview.

"Sometimes it is not about personal glory. When you have achieved so much individually, you have to go in for team success.

"I really feel good for winning the premier league for the first time in my career. In all it has been a successful season for me."

Aduana Stars won their second title since gaining promotion into the Ghana Premier League last Sunday after beating Elmina Sharks.

Meanwhile, a defeat this weekend could not affect their standings.
