Ebusua Dwarfs ex-coach J.E Sarpong claims that he feels sad following the sacking Aduana stars head coach Yusif Abubakar.

Abubakar parted ways with the Dormaa based side after guiding the club to their second Ghana Premier League title.

In an interview with Metro FM in Kumasi, veteran coach J.E Sarpong revealed that the timing of coach Abubakar departure is not healthy for the Ogya lads ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup game against AS vita club with seven days.

“I feel sorry for Yusif Abubakar who has just left Aduana Stars and I also think it’s not healthy for a club playing a continental game just the week ahead of us to part ways with its head coach” he said.

“To be honest, somebody like Yussif is a fantastic coach and let me say that he deserves to handle even a national team but the old system of the GFA didn’t recognize him."

"National team jobs were given based on biased preferences, they looked at your face and award you a job."

"I don’t know why Yusif has not been even given a national team duty as at now."

"It’s sad how his stay has ended at Aduana."

"I wish him well,' he added.

The experienced trainer also explained the reason why coaches hardly stay at a local club for four years.

“You see people should stop drawing a comparison with European or foreign clubs and their coaches," he revealed.

"What the Europeans have and how they’ve grown in the football business, we are not at their level and so we cannot expect our coaches to stay at a club say for 4 or 5 years.”

He added, ” It won’t happen here."

"With this interference and way of doing things ?"

"There are even clubs here in Ghana that dictate for their coaches telling them how to pick their teams and all that and it’s unfortunate,” he concluded.
