I would not have renewed the contracts of Kizito and Fatau, twelve months ago- Kurt Okraku

Executive Chairman of newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC Kurt Okraku says there was no way he would sanction the renewal of most of the Accra Hearts of Oak players 12 months ago if he was Togbe Afede.

Kwame Kizito, Thomas Abbey, Vincent Atinga and Fatau Mohammed all want out of the club after the expiration of their contracts following an amazing season at the club.

The quartet all excelled under Coach Frank Nuttal but reports indicates they have rejected contracts renewals to seek a new adventure elsewhere.

And former member of the club, Kurt Okraku believes a year ago those players were struggling to make a mark so there was no way anybody would have given them a contract renewal.

”Twelve months ago Kizito was on his way out of Hearts of Oak because he was surplus to requirement. Atinka, and Fatau were all not considered to be top materials. If I sat in the seat of Togbe Afede at that time with a year left on their contract, there was no way that I was going to renew their contract because that was the general perception among the Phobia fraternity,” he told Asempa FM.

”He didn’t believe Fatau Mohammed was a top quality at that time so if I were to be the Board chairman, I would definitely not have sanction a renewal of their contract twelve months ago.”

Defender Fatau Mohammed wants GHC 25,000 to stay at the club with Kwame Kizito asking to leave for Sweden where he could be signing for BK Hacken.

However, Vincent Atinga has requested for a floating status which has been granted to him.
