Black Stars assistant coach of the Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko has called on the country’s football governing body to maintain Mercy Tagoe as the head coach of the Black Queens.

Tagoe led the country’s female national team to win the 2018 maiden edition of the WAFU Women Championship held at Ivory Coast.

There have been calls made by many Ghanaian football fans not to hand the team to the former Black Queens player but Tanko believes Tagoe is the best person to handle the team.

“I think after winning the WAFU championship in Ivory Coast, I don’t think taking the team from her will be a good decision,” he told Class Sports.

“For a short while she has handled the team, she has been able to win a trophy and you can see that everything is going on well and for me, I think the FA should maintain her as the head coach of the Black Queens,” he added.
