Injury update on Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Published on: 04 May 2017

Timothy Fosu-Mensah was seen at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League semi-final clash with Celta Vigo on Thursday but did not train after receiving a long-term injury in the last week.

Fosu-Mensah suffered a dislocated shoulder during the dying stages of Man United’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result.

ESPN‘s Rob Dawson, observing United’s Wednesday training session, confirmed that Fosu-Mensah was no longer wearing a sling.

He will hope to resume full fitness ahead of the European Under-21 Championship, starting on June 16, in an attempt to convince Mourinho to keep him in his plans ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

Fosu-Mensah will have to be patient ahead of what promises to be a long-recovery process following a painful injury, but seeing him already out of his sling – something that, actually, as those of you who watch his Instagram stories will know, has been gone for a number of days – can only be a positive thing.
