Former Ghana international John Painstil says he had some great experience playing in England after moving from Israel.

The right back left Hapoel Tel Aviv to join West Ham in 2006 before moving to Fulham where he had the best time of his career in England.

John Painstil became part of the famous Roy Hodson team that went to the final of the Europa Cup but eventually lost to Sevilla, and placed seventh in the English Premier League.

The 36 year old stated on Kwese TV’s home run show it was a great experience playing in the intense English Premier League.

"It was a great experience,” he said. ”Moving to West Ham and playing three seasons and then Roy Hodson came and moved me to Fulham and I played every game under him,” he added.

“We ended up in the Europa Cup final and placed 7th at the end of the season, for a Club that battles relegation. Roy Hodson took six months to change everything. It was a great experience."

"I was the highest appearance player at Fulham and the fans favourite player. I had a good time in England.

"I moved to Leicester City later but spent some small time because something came up and I had to move back to Israel to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv.” He concluded.

The former Leicester City player has been taking some Coaching courses and was recently assistant manager at South African side Kaizer Chiefs.
