Iwobi intent on overcoming subpar Arsenal form

Published on: 26 April 2017

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has expressed his desire to return to his best form following a difficult past few months.

After a bright start to the season, Iwobi has endured a difficult period over the past few months and things got so bad for the young attacker that he was even dropped to the Under-23 squad ahead of the clash against Crystal Palace.

Rather than getting disheartened, Iwobi thinks that the recent tough experience will make him stronger and is currently drawing strength from his struggles as a youngster to get through the difficult period he is facing at the moment.

Iwobi said: “My journey so far has been a bumpy ride, so it's something I look back on and say to myself, 'If I can overcome things that I believe were worse than what's going on now, then surely I should be able to overcome this.

“It's tough, especially for the ones who almost get released, which I unfortunately had to go through. It makes you stronger. If you're good enough and you apply the work that needs to be done and put in maximum effort then you'll come through."
