Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko has expressed delight at re-signing for Turkish side Eskişehirspor after a long injury lay-off.

Akaminko had to leave the club after sitting out for almost two years following an ankle injury he suffered while playing for Ghana in an international friendly with Holland.

On Monday, the former Hearts of Lions player sealed a move back to the club who parted ways with him last six months.

At his official unveiling, the 25-year-old noted his happiness for joining the Turkish side again.

"I am happy to be back and I want to thank the fans and especially our president, Eskisehir is a football city and we definitely do not deserve to be in the second league,” he said

This is an opportunity to show our love for the team, I came here for the first president, I could not say no to him. I had to make a lot of sacrifice.

“They are really nice people. I've come to my face and I'm ready for that percentage. I remember the old days I was happy. Better days will come soon. I will be in the Premier League, "he said.
