Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew says he is delighted to see Swansea teammate Wilfried Bony return to scoring for the Club after enduring a turbulent time on his return to the Liberty Stadium.

The Ivorian striker has struggled with form and injuries since his return to Swansea from Manchester City. However, on Wednesday, Bony scored the winner as Swansea beat Championship leaders Wolves to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Jordan Ayew who has been the key figure at Swansea this season expressed excitement for his fellow teammate who has been through some difficult time.

“A striker lives for goals. I’m happy for Wilfried because it’s not been easy for him as he has had to deal with injuries,” Ayew told Swanseacity.com

“On Wednesday he showed the big, quality striker that he is. His performance and goal gives us confidence as a team as well going into Monday’s game.

“We know he is a big player and he can produce big performances, and we all have confidence in him.”

The Welsh side will welcome Liverpool on Monday at the Liberty Park and the Ghanaian forward is confident ahead of the big game.

Ayew pointed out the club needs to start picking important points so they can avoid the drop.

“We are into a crucial stage of the season and every match is really important,” said the Ghanaian.

“Confidence is very important and winning on Wednesday night boosted the team’s confidence. That can help us mentally for Monday’s match.

“We know it’s not going to be easy on Monday but with the support we have and quality in the squad we know we have to start improving and winning games. We need points, and that’s the target.”
