Jordan Ayew likely to miss Swansea City-Newcastle United clash

English Premier League side Swansea City are sweating on Ghana striker Jordan Ayew for Newcastle United clash this Sunday.

Ayew is unlikely to be passed fit for the game after being taken ill on international duty with Ghana.

He was ruled out of the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Congo in Brazzaville on Tuesday with an upset stomach.

Swansea believe the illness is a stomach bug rather than food poisoning, and Ayew will fly back to the UK on Wednesday where he will be assessed by the club's medical team.

Ayew has started all four of Swansea's games so far this season, scoring in the wins over MK Dons and Crystal Palace.
