Jose Fonte leaves Dalian Yifang after only seven appearances

Jose Fonte is reportedly eyeing the Premier League again after leaving Dalian Yifang.

Portugal international Jose Fonte has left Dalian Yifang after making just seven appearances for the Chinese Super League club in three months.

Fonte, who left West Ham United in February for a reported £5 million fee, has been linked to a return to the Premier League. He joined West Ham in January 2017 after spending parts of seven seasons at Southampton.

"My time in Dalian and [the] Chinese Super League comes to an end," Fonte wrote on Instagram. "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone I met and made friendships along the way!"

Fonte, 34, has won 35 caps for Portugal and started all four games at the World Cup.

He has been linked to a move to Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
