Klopp: Liverpool derby with ‘impressive’ Everton so important

Jurgen Klopp feels the next Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton is a little more important than normal.

The Reds sit fourth on the Premier League table ahead of the upcoming clash with the seventh-placed Toffees at Goodison Park on April 1 after the international break.

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Manchester City on Sunday after Ronald Koeman's Everton made it four wins from their past six outings with a 4-0 victory over Hull City.

"The next game is against Everton, they have come from behind [in the table] and it is quite impressive, so it is not only a derby, it's another very important game," said Klopp.

"Now we will send the boys all over the world to their national teams, hopefully they come back healthy and then we will go again.

"The problem is, if you do something like this [draw at City] usually it is really positive, but in our case it is not only because it means we could have done better in the other games.

"In a few of them, yes, but not in all of them because of different reasons."

Liverpool have not lost to local rivals Everton since October 2010.
