Board Member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kweku Amponsah has admitted that the title race is over them after drawing with Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports on Sunday in the Match Day 27 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors were hoping to mount pressure on league leaders Wa All Stars but the Berekum based club frustrated them to a goalless draw.

The Kumasi based club now find themselves at the 3rd position with 42 points.

Speaking to Asempa Sports in an interview, Amponsah said, “I said the race will be decided with two matches to end the season but as it stands I will say that it is over Kotoko.

“We should have uplifted our performance when it was eight matches to end the season but we failed to that and that is what has cost us because if you are playing at home and you are not able to get all the three points then it will have effects on you.

“Aduana Stars and Wa All Stars were able to win their home matches and try to get a point away but it wasn’t so for us so it is over us.” Amponsah added.

Kotoko will play Medeama at the Tarkwa T&N Park in the Match Day 28 fixture.
