Kotoko Coach Steve Polack rues missed chances against Wassaman despite win

Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Steve Polack says the team made things difficult for themselves in their 1-0 win over Wassaman in the MTN FA Cup round of 16.

Kotoko created lots of goal scoring opportunities in the first half but only managed to score one.

The Porcupine Warriors progressed to the quarter finals of the FA Cup through a penalty expertly taken by Captain Amos Frimpong in the 36th minute.

Coach Steve Polack who is yet to lose a game as manager of the Kumasi based side was not impressed by the showing of his players insisting they would have to be clinical in front of goal.

“It is importantly we got to the quarter finals. Two things I have learnt from this game today is we created a lot of chances, we could have been four or five nil at half time and the game will have been dead and buried but we didn’t,” he said after the game.

“Congrats to them (Wassaman), they gave us a hard game but I have learnt a lot today about some of our players and something that we have to put right.”

Steve Polack joined from Berekum Chelsea in the second round and has managed to steady a somewhat sinking Kotoko.

The English man will now shift attention to the Ghana Premier League where they will host Champions Wa All Stars on Sunday at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.
