Kumasi Asante Kotoko's hunt for young talents has hit the doors of Adu Gyamfi Senior High School, with five of the school team's players wanted by the club.
Assistant Coach of Kotoko, Akapo Patron spotted the boys in the top 8 competition played amongst Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region.
According to reports from Kumasi, Samuel Amankwah, Evans Osei, Godfred Scholes and two other players were targeted by the Kotoko technical team and should negotiations for the go well, the players will join Kotoko’s youth side.
Sports master of the school, Mr. Mike Opoku confirmed the technical handlers of the Porcupine Warriors came around to inquire about the students, who excelled in the Top 8.
“Yes, they came in. I made it known to them that, they’re making me realise my ambition of letting my players play for Kotoko. I’m happy Kotoko are building their juvenile team with young talents. It’s my boys from Adu Gyamfi. A club like Kotoko should make their juvenile side a thick one to ensure smooth trajectory from youth football to the senior side” said the Sports Master.
The Ashanti Region is revered for the production of talents for the country in terms of sports. Names can be mentioned of Sulley Muntari, Dauda Mohammed, Wahab Adams who is a former student of of Adu Gyamfi.
