Former Ghana international Samuel Kuffour has stated that becoming the General Manager or club president of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is not the most important thing in his life and that he is not a “dream chaser”.

The former Bayern Munich defender turned TV pundit and will not go any extra mile and lobby for the Kotoko top job. The position have been occupied by likes of Herbert Mensah, Sylvester Owusu Asare (now Bantama chief in Kumasi), Dr. K.K Sarpong and many others.

Sammy revealed this when he spoke to Accra based Citi FM.

“I am not a person that chases a dream. Football is football. If it comes your way for you to do it why not. If it doesn’t come your way, I quit football. I am a businessman and just moved on with my business and move on with my life. I have people who look up to me. I have children to raise up.

“I have my mother to take care of. I have lots of stuff. I have my workers so I do not think about those things. If the thing (the Kotoko job) doesn’t come for me it’s not relevant to me. I think about what is ahead of me. I think about what is in front of me. For me to grab it. Past is past.

“I don’t care about the past. I care about what I am going to grab in the next few hours, few days, few minutes, and few seconds. Those are the things that I care about”. Sammy added.

The former defensive bedrock of the Black Stars was widely expected to be appointed by owner of the club -the powerful King Otumfour Osei Tutu II as the next general manager for the club back in October last year.
