Communications head of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Obed Acheampong has indicated that officials of the club had no influence in the team selection nor the formation former coach Lugarusic laid out for each game.
Zdravko Lugarusic was sacked by Kumasi Asante Kotoko after unsatisfactory results in the Ghana Premier League. Kotoko are third after dropping two points against Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.
“There was no day Kotoko management sent a formation for the coach to use. When we signed the contract with Lugarisic, he demanded our full support because the target given to him was huge.“ he told Happy FM.
“We agreed to give him our full backing but if performances don’t reflect our support we will part ways. So we if we influence his selection, he would not agree. And he won’t even compromise if we made changes for him. We provided him all he needed in all his eleven games including the players he wanted in. We never had any influence in his player selection.” He added.
Kotoko will travel to Wa to play Champions All Stars.
