Kotoko ready for CARA in CAF Confederation Cup- PRO

Public Relations Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Sir Obed Acheampong says the club is ready for their opponents, Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon Brazzaville(CARA) after they were drawn with the Congolese side in the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederations Cup held in Cairo on Wednesday.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are representing Ghana in the competition after winning the MTN FA Cup in October this year. Meanwhile Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon Brazzaville(CARA) qualified after pacing third in the Congolese League.

The Porcupine Warriors will face an up-heal task of overcoming CARA to progress in the competition but Sir Obed, who speaks for the club is optimistic about the club's chances.

“As a matter of fact, we were not expecting any easier side. Don’t forget this is a competition for the best teams in Africa so definitely we are going to meet a tough opponent so it is a tricky draw,” he told Ghana Crusader.

”The team might not be well known in the eyes of most people but their ability to get to this stage alone means they have been through the text. It won’t be an easy match but as a club we are ready for whichever opponent and we are still ready for them,” he added

Kumasi Asante Kotoko began preseason earlier this month in anticipation of a cumbersome schedule next season.

The club has started preparation and are looking to add new players to the side with former stars Daniel Nii Adjei, who won the competition with Congolese giants TP Mezembe and Jordan Opoku linked with the Kumasi based club.
