Kwadwo Asamoah linked to Southampton switch

Southampton are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

Southampton manager Claude Puel, whose future is still unclear at St Mary's, is keen on strengthening his squad this summer and Asamoah is believed to be one of his main targets.

The Ghana international has been with the Old Lady since 2012 when joining from Udinese but he has slipped down the pecking order in the past couple of seasons, making just 15 Serie A starts this term.

Reports are suggesting the 28-year-old, who can also be deployed at left-back, is eager for more playing time and the Saints are hoping they can entice their target to the Premier League this summer.

A bid around the £10million mark is expected to be enough to land the midfielder but Southampton may offer more in order to fend off competition from English rivals West Ham United.

The Hammers are also believed to be sniffing around and manager Slaven Bilic is eager to bring Asamoah to the London Stadium.
