Asamoah came on in the 88th minute for striker Gonzalo Higuain to play a role in Juventus’ triumph over Barcelona in the quarterfinals of the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday.

The Italian giants came into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory in the first leg and frustrated the hosts from scoring to share the spoils goalless, despite Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar coming close on several occasions.

Asamoah came on for Gonzalez Higuain on 88th minute and defended very well, stopping Neymar at a point. The goalless scoreline is the first time in 50 games that Barcelona have failed to find the back of the net in the champions league.

Only three teams have stopped Barcelona from scoring in both legs of a Champions League knockout fixtures.

  • Man Utd (2007/08)
  • Bayern (2012/13)
  • Juventus (2016/17)
