With Real and Atleti level on points, the FC crew predict who'll come out on top when the Madrid clubs renew their rivalry.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced that La Liga will introduce video assistant referees (VAR) for the 2018-19 season.
VAR has already been introduced in the Bundesliga, Serie A, Major League Soccer, Primeira Liga and A-League, while it has also been tested in international friendlies and some tournaments such as the Under-20 World Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
La Liga is now set to follow suit, with the RFEF confirming in a statement that all referees and assistant referees in the Spanish top flight have been informed of VAR's implementation from next season onwards.
The tests required by the International Football Association Board for the introduction of VAR will begin in Spain soon, the RFEF added.
Video assistant referees will be a part of Spanish football from next season.
Earlier this season, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez called for VAR to be introduced in La Liga.
"The issue of VAR is fundamental," he said. "That would take away the discretion that referees have. I am in favour of technology, no doubt, as in all sports.
"I don't want to take on [RFEF president Angel Maria] Villar. I have not had a bad relationship with him, but this is a moment to have more transparency in football. Transparency and technology are good for football."
