Lawson Bekui's early injury affected our game plan – CK Akunnor

Manager C.K Akonnor says that the absence of key man Lawson Bekui forced him to change his game plan against Hearts of Oak. Dreams FC needed to do a quick tactical switch on the 28th minute in the game following a first half knee injury to the clubs leading goal scorer.

Coach Akonnor feels Bekui could’ve tormented the defenders of Hearts of Oak should he have played the entire duration of the game.

“Bekui’s early injury sort of destroyed our attacking line,” Akonnor told dreamsfc.com.

“Lawson was our key man in terms of going forward,”

“He gives the team a lot of stability and balance when he plays due to his unique quality. But that didn’t happen as he had to stretched off,”

“We believe that if he had been stayed on, he would’ve caused a lot of problems.”

Dreams FC brought on Eric Gawu for Bekui after the injury and had to play the game without two of their key striker following another injury to Emmanuel Armah.

“The situation got heightened after the injury to Emmanuel Armah and so we were forced to make changes that we didn’t want to make,” But that is part of football so we needed to adjust.” C.K Akonnor ended.

Dreams FC is eager to record their first victory in the second round of the League on Wednesday when they host New Edubaise United on Wednesday in a midweek encounter.
