Vice Chairman of the Premier League board George Amoako says the Ghana Premier League has been suspended to allow Kumasi Asante Kotoko recover after the fatal accident they suffered a fortnight ago.
The Premier League Board announced the league will be on break for a month to pave way for the FA cup and the WAFU tournament.
However, Mr. Amoako said in an interview part of the reason for the suspension of the league was to allow the Porcupine Warriors to recover the trauma of the accident that suffered on their way from a premier league game against Inter Allies.
“We got a medical report from Kotoko’s doctor which gave an indication that, Kotoko will probably be ready within the next two weeks but if they are not ready we cannot force them to play the league.
“For that matter we would then have to suspend the league to get the Black Stars B prepare for the WAFU tournament,” Amoako said.
Meanwhile, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have also revealed they might return in middle August with the players returning one after the other for training.
The Porcupine Warriors have two outstanding games against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and WAFA.
