English Premier League Champions Leicester City have handed Ghanaian-born British Joe Dodoo a new contract as their Premier League rivals circle round the striker.

The forward burst onto the scene last season after scoring a hat-trick on his senior debut, a 4-1 Capital One Cup with Bury.

Dodoo has long been on the radar of academy scouts across the country, and his scintillating performance anytime he was handed the opportunity has increased his profile.

According to the Leicester Mercury Dodoo has therefore been rewarded with a new contract after bursting onto the first team scene last season.

The Foxes are aware of the interest in the 20-year-old and want to safeguard his long-term future by tying him down to a new deal.

Arsenal are understood to be one of the clubs monitoring the young forward.

Dodoo was handed his Premier League debut in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on August 29.
