Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing 17-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton this summer.

The youngster, who turns 18 next month, was brought into the Forest senior squad in January andhas since made nine appearances for the Championship strugglers, finding the net an impressive three times.

According tothe Sun, Anfield scouts have been delivering glowing reports to Jurgen Klopp, and the Reds' manager is now eyeing a £10m move for the starlet. The German coach is reportedly keen on taking Brereton under his wing, and believes he can mould the talented attacker into the perfect forward for his system.

Klopp is keen to wrap up the signingthis summer, and would ideally like to retain Brereton next season rather than loan him out. It is understood that the former Dortmund man prefers to work with youngsters within his set up as opposed to loan them out, as Premier League rivals Chelsea infamously do.

Big names such as Daniel Sturridge have been linked with moves away from Anfield this summer.Whilst Brereton is too young for next season, Klopp has an impressive track record for nurturing talent, the German's tutelage can only be a positive for the former Stoke whizkid.
