Premier League club Liverpool are set to test Juventus’ resolve to retain Paulo Dybala after splashing out on Cristiano Ronaldo, by making an approach for the forward.

The Argentine star has enjoyed three successful seasons at the Allianz Stadium since arriving from Palermo, but could be overshadowed by the arrival of Ronaldo from Real Madrid in a club record €105 million deal on Wednesday.

Indeed, the Bianconeri could be willing to offload Dybala and compatriot striker Gonzalo Higuain to raise funds and clear space in their forward line, with Argentine outlet Tyc Sport reporting that Liverpool will are interested in the former.

The Reds are keen to reinforce their squad after narrowly falling short in the Champions League final in May, and could be ready to submit a €90m bid to land the 24-year-old.

Dybala enjoyed his most prolific season for Juventus last term, netting 26 goals in 46 to surpass his 23 strikes in his maiden campaign for the club.

A member of Argentina’s World Cup squad, the forward only made a single substitute appearance, in a 3-0 Group Stage defeat to Croatia, before the Albiceleste crashed out in the Last 16 to France.
